Donor Eggs

If you’re fortunate, you may have a sister, relative or friend who’s prepared to go through IVF procedures to donate their eggs to you.

This means:

• you know the genetic origin of the egg
• you may be able to get started with treatment more quickly

If you find a donor through advertising, an online forum, or any other source and the donor has now become known to you—they are also considered a ‘known’ egg donor.

At Monash IVF, we have established partnerships with overseas egg banks who work with us to provide Australian-compliant egg donors for our patients. The egg donors we access are rigorously screened to meet the same high standards required in Australia. This includes testing for infectious and genetic diseases, as well as a full psychiatric and family medical history.

Donor profiles include photos, as well as non-identifying information about the individuals, allowing our patients to choose a donor that is right for them.

Our donor teams can support you with selecting a donor, and arranging for the import of your donor eggs ready for treatment in Australia.

We welcome clinic-recruited egg donors at Monash IVF, and acknowledge what an amazing gift egg donation can be. However, the number of clinic-recruited egg donors we have access to is limited as altruistic egg donors are rare.
